A Winner, and Some Reminders

We've got a couple of reminders to share with you today! First, today is the last day that our Breast Cancer Awareness images are available for free. As this card shows, you can use the cards for other causes than just breast cancer - you could really use them for any cancer awareness cards (this one is for colon cancer), or you could color them yellow and use them for the troops.  So many possibilities, so grab yours today while you can! Details on how to get them for free can be found on this post.

Secondly, tomorrow is the last day to get in on our HUGE sale - over 40 rubber stamps are priced at $1 a piece! Additionally, with every purchase you'll get an additional rubber stamp for free (we'll choose the stamp). Hurry, so you won't miss anything :)

And finally - a winner for our blog hop. Congrats Lynn - you'll get a $25 goodie bag from us! Just email us within 48 hours to claim your prize, and put Oct 2010 Blog Hop Winner in the subject line!

October Design Team Spotlight

This month we're getting to know Kristine Reynolds. We're so thrilled to have her as part of our team. Most recently, Kristine whipped up an amazing Trash to Treasure post to share with everyone that was just FULL of amazing tips and tricks. Every project she makes is a stunner!

We asked Kristine a few questions, so everyone could all get to know her better!

How long have you been stamping? 7 years

Do you prefer to make cards or other projects? cards!

If you were a Copic marker/Prismacolor marker which color would you be? BG9-not really sure why...I just really like that color

Which of your InStyle Stamps projects was your favorite? I really like my October Blog hop projects.

You are stranded in a craft store, which aisle do you sleep in? The paper aisle...I just love looking at all the different patterns and textures and dreaming of all the different cards I could make with them. I am a major paper hoarder!

What 5 words describe you? My family would say, "Always in her craft room"!

What’s your crafting style? I'm not really sure. I think I lean towards bright & cutesy! I love to color line art images and don't do well with CAS cards...I have to fill all the blank space!

Messy or clean scrap room? Mostly clean...it's stuffed full of stuff...(did I mention that I'm a hoarder...) but it's organized and I know where everything is!

What tool or embellishment can you not live without? Just one??? Well...probably my copic markers since I use them on nearly every card I make

What is your favorite stamping technique? I love coloring with my copic markers.

We couldn't be happier to have Kristine as part of our team. Thanks for everything you do, and keep up the amazing creativity!

Method Monday-Trash to Treasure

Happy Monday!!!

It's me, Kristine, and it's my turn to do the Method Monday Post.

I thought it would be fun to share some ideas on how to reuse some items you might normally throw away. I love turning "trash" into "treasure" and my family has been well trained to stop before throwing away anything that could possibly be use in my craft room. They always come to me to see if I can use a can or bottle before it hits the trash!

This plastic container used to hold paper clips...

I replaced the paper with a piece of patterned paper, filled it with candy and made this cute little sign using "Candy Corn Family". What a fun way to keep candy on your counter this month or a cute little gift for a friend!

My family loves nuts so I have quite a few of these large plastic containers. They are a great way to 'wrap" a gift. I decorated this one with "Baby Jayla" to create a really cute gift box. "Baby Jayla" is available as a digi or in red rubber! I didn't have any onesies on hand but you can roll up 4-6 of them and put them in here for a really cute presentation!

This was a container that my prima flowers came in.

It's the perfect size to hold pens or pencils. I decorated this with "Janice".

My Daughter loved pulling out this cool tube of colored pencils when she was in school and I ended up making a few of them for her friends too!

I always save my Starbucks Frappucino bottles because they are a great way to package up a little treat for someone.

I used Heart 5 for this project. I was concerned about the ink smearing when I colored the heart with my copic markers so I printed out the heart on red cardstock which worked great!

And finally...this is the case that my son's i-pod came in a couple of Christmases ago.

I took the paper out of the inside and used it as a template to cut out the pink paper for the inside and then I decorated it with Bday Chloe for a terrific gift card holder.

Here's a view of the front.

Here's a side view. I like the way you can see the gift card inside.
Here it is when opened.

I hope you've enjoyed these projects and they've gotten your creative juices flowing and opened your eyes to some ways that you can turn "trash" into "treasure"!

I didn't take you step by step through how to make these because I just wanted to provide some inspiration but if you have any questions about how to make any of these "trash" to "treasure" projects, please leave it in the comments section and I'll get back with you!

Our Favorite Fall Color Combos

We're right in the middle of fall, with all the beautiful, warm earthtones, the cooler temperatures, and the start of the holiday season. We asked a few of our designers what their favorite fall color combos were, and we wanted to share their inspiration with you.

Cathy likes browns, oranges, and reds

Barbara loves the traditional autumn colors
Taylor loves the earthtones too!

As you can see, the earthtones are very popular! Guess there is something appealing about the browns, deep oranges, rich reds, and olive greens that appeals to everyone.
