Method Monday - Using Versa Marker to Emboss Digital Images

Happy Holidays!!! I hope you are all enjoying this wonderful season!!!

I want to welcome you to this weeks Method Monday! I'm Raquel-- your hostess this week. Today I will be sharing with you a tutorial for Embossing with Digital Images.

Lets start with the supplies...
  • Digital Image of your choice (I decided that I wanted to emboss Kimi's wings.)
  • VersaMarker
  • Embossing Powder
  • Embossing Heat Tool

1. Use your VersaMarker and outline the area that you want to emboss.

2. After outlining with your VersaMarker, pour a generous amount of Embossing Powder over the area that was outlined.

3. After added the Embossing Powder, shake the excess amount off and clean any that may not be in the location that you want it.

4. After shaking off the excess powder, heat the area with the embossing powder. You will notice as you are heating that the powder will kindof melt. At that point you want to stop heating, to avoid over heating.

5. Repeat previous steps until you are satisfied with what you have Emboss and then you are finished and ready to put your project together, if you haven't already!!

How simple is that, and it's always such a great touch!!

I hope you enjoyed my simple tutorial!! I can’t wait to see your creations!! Please link back with your embossed creations in the comment section, I would love to see them.

Have a wonderful New Year..

Hugs,
Raquel

Are you ready for a new challenge? Great! Let's get to the theme for our OHDBCG.

But wait! We have a winner to announce!
We used Random.org to generate our winner, so without anymore waiting, it's

Juanita, Congratulations!

You have 48 hours to contact Virginia to claim your prize. Email her at vvillasenoratinstylestampsdotcom (make sure you remove the at and dot and replace with the @ and .) Remember those are 2 v's in the beginning of the email address.

For this month we're going to be challenged to create a New Year's themed card or project using an ISS image. All your holiday shopping is done, right? {wink} Well then, give yourself some time creating it up with a New Year's inspiration.

Once your project is complete (and you have 30 days to do this) add your name into Mr. Linky with a link to your specific project blog post before 11:59 pm, PST, January 12th, 2010. OHDBCG was started to give a little boost to get us over hump day. It occurs on the 2nd or 3rd (if there are 5) Wednesday of the month. That was a mouthful huh? I thought it would be a good idea to offer some monthly candy. Who doesn’t like candy?

Method Monday- Scraplings

Welcome to Method Monday! I'm Joy- and I'm your hostess this week. I am a paper hoarder....never throw any paper away that can be used, which is why I love the idea of scraplings. I make a lot of 4 x 4 cards, but don't want to throw away the paper that is cut off the side of the normal sized card....so SCRAPLINGS are a simple solution to use it! Here's how:

Materials Needed:
5 1/2 x 8 1/2 cardstock cardbase
Paper Cutter
Image(s)- I used Cocktail, a digi image from ISS
Designer Paper and Embellishments as desired

Step One

Step 2

Step 3

and VIOLA- an instant card set ready for any gift, any occasion- and best of all- you didn't waste any of your paper!
